Sonata Homenaje a Torroba, Op. 2 for Violoncello and Guitar was composed in 2025 for the Orfeus Student Composition Festival in Bratislava. The work was premiered by Adam Svitač (guitar) and Ken-Wassim Ubukata (violoncello).

Conceived as a tribute to Federico Moreno Torroba, whose contribution to the classical guitar repertoire remains fundamental, the sonata draws inspiration from Spanish musical idioms, dance rhythms, and lyrical expressivity.

The composition is structured in three movements:
I. Danza
II. El grito de Orfeo
III. Fiesta toccata

Throughout the work, the guitar and violoncello engage in a vivid and dramatic dialogue, alternating between rhythmic vitality, expressive cantabile passages, and virtuosic intensity. While honoring the spirit of Torroba’s musical language, the sonata also seeks to unite Spanish color with a contemporary chamber-music aesthetic.
